AN exhibition outlining Warrington Borough Council's three year plan for the town visits Culcheth library this week.

The council's scheme entitled 'Future Warrington' lays down seven key pledges that the council hopes to honour by 2002.

The pledges, which have been formulated after consultation with more than 400 organisations, cover economic prosperity, community safety, interest in democracy, value for money, education and lifelong learning, health and well-being and environmental issues.

A conference will be held once a year to listen to the views of the people of Warrington and a new three year plan will be issued annually based on what is heard.

But to get as many people as possible to see what the council intends to do, the council has set up the touring exhibition which will visit all the libraries in the town in one week spells.

The exhibition has already been to Stockton Heath, and will be in Culcheth until Friday.

It will then visit Padgate Library in the week beginning Monday, February 8, and from then on will travel to Westbrook from Feb 15, Burtonwood from Feb 22, Penketh from March 1, Orford from March 8, Woolston from March 15, Lymm from March 22 and finally Warrington Central Library from March 29.

For more information, contact your local library.

Not in the exhibition, but also part of the plans for the future, are the redevelopment of the town centre and an ambitious scheme to regenerate land around the River Mersey. Models of those plans are on view in the Town Hall foyer.
