Woolston Rovers 22
Askam 18
ROVERS got back to winning ways in the National Conference Premier Division.
And in their morale-boosting win they welcomed back second row Stewart Cash who had been sidelined for almost two years with a bad knee injury.
Rovers built up a 14-6 interval lead with tries from James Brabin off a Graham Smith pass and Mike Briggs off a Liam Horrigan break. Smith added the extras and a penalty.
Two tries by winger Hamish Munton stretched Woolston's lead.
Askam pulled six points back before their stand off Paul Tyson was sent off and forwards Tony Bagnall and Steve Procter sin binned, all for foul language to the referee.
Despite being reduced to 10 men Butler went over for his second try and goaled himself.
The man of the match was awarded to Rovers captain Graham Smith.
