WARRING neighbours across the town could soon have a service designed to step in and sort out the problem.

A mediation service for council tenants has been shut down after a lack of interest from householders - but the council is thinking of re-launching it for neighbours in all homes across the borough.

The idea of expanding the scheme will be discussed at Monday's Policy Meeting.

The council's Housing Chief Tom Roberts said that the original scheme was stopped to save money.

Only 20 enquiries were received in its last six months and a bid for National Lottery funding was unsuccessful.

Mr Roberts said: "The Policy Committee will now decide whether or not to introduce it on a borough wide scale, as opposed to just for council tenants."
