MOTHER of "babe in the wood" Charlotte Jones is continuing to be assessed by medical experts.
Michelle Jones, aged 24, was set to appear before magistrates last Friday charged with wilfully abandoning three-year-old Charlotte at Gypsy Wood and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to her.
But the court excused her attendance as she continues to be detained and assessed under section 35 of the Mental Health Act at a secure hospital. Jones, of Lewis Avenue, Dallam, is scheduled to appear in court on March 5.
Magistrates extended legal aid to defence solicitors to enable counsel to advise Jones before committal proceedings take place.
