I also note that the local police have decided to withdraw village bobbies.

Yet in the North East, the 'zero tolerance' policy, which involved a heavy and active police involvement, has resulted in the local population enjoying a dramatically improved lifestyle.

Why don't our police get onto the streets where they are needed, and follow the lead given by the North East? The excuse that two murders have tied up all their staff does not wash - there has been no success there either.

When are we going to get value for money from this organisation, whose favourite expression seems to be "There's nothing we can do, sorry."
