Port Sunlight 1st XV 0
Helsby 1st XV 19
HELSBY increased their chances of a top five final league position with another impressive league victory.
Playing into a strong wind in the first-half Helsby made good use of this advantage and their tactics to run the ball in hand led them to take an early first-half lead when Gordon Lilley made a 30 yard break before releasing a pass to winger Andy Rowlinson who just squeezed in at the corner to score.
Helsby extended their lead to 12 points in the second-half when flanker Richard Lilley won the ball in the line-out and powered his way over from 15 yards Phil Catterall converted.
Captain John Williams sealed it for Helsby when he intercepted a loose pass to sprint 60 yards to score, Phil Catterall again converting.

Helsby 2nd XV 5
Port Sunlight 2nd XV 13
HELSBY seconds lost their four match unbeaten record, but not without a fight as they pushed a very experienced Port Sunlight side all the way.
Helsby's heroic first-half efforts saw them take an early lead when Steve Jubb's superb break down the wing saw Mark Wakefield in support to finish off in the corner.
Port Sunlight improved following this, going on to win the match with two tries and a penalty.
Although Helsby can count themselves unlucky when Mark Wakefield had a last minute try disallowed.
