A MAN has been given two months to prove he can give up drugs and settle down to a normal life.

Sean Finn, 30, was given the chance by Judge David Hale at Warrington Crown Court on Friday.

Finn, of Littlegate, Halton Brook, appeared for breaching a two-year probation order and 100-hour community service order he had received for possession of cannabis and heroin and affray.

The court heard police found Finn in possession of drugs when he visited a house that was being kept under observation.

On another occasion, he was arrested after shouting an abuse and waving a knife.

Tom Watson, defending, said Finn had been held in custody for three weeks since being arrested for breeching the orders. He believed this was sufficient punishment.

Finn had been addicted to drugs but was now free of them.

Judge Hale said he agreed and would defer sentence for two months.

He told Finn: "You say you are going to stop drug taking and settle down.

"You have two months to show me you can.

"Good luck".
