A NEW after-school club could soon be opened for pupils in Middlewich.
Helen Biddle, of Middlewich Day Nursery, who already runs an after-school group at Cledford Junior School, is planning to launch one at the other end of town.
She is hoping to open a new club to cater for pupils at Middlewich County Infants, Middlewich County Juniors and St Mary's Primary.
Mrs Biddle said: "Last year I started up an after school club in Cledford and the numbers we have now are so great we would like to start another group. It's something I had always wanted to do but I did not have the room at the nursery.
"The original club has grown tremendously since it opened last June. It's gone from strength to strength and so now we are hoping to open a club at the other side of the town, to serve Middlewich County Infants and Juniors and St Mary's Primary.
"We have all sorts of equipment and the children can play football, sports, computer games - Game Boy and Nintendo - or take part in craft, cookery or art. There's a whole range of fun activities and children can even do their homework.
"It is hoped the after-school club will be open from 8am to 9am and from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays.
"If we get a good public response, it would open after the Easter holidays in April," she added.
The cost of the after-school club sessions is £2 for morning and £4 in the afternoon.
