YOUNG karate star Gregory Belfield has realised his dream of representing his country in a world championships.
Gregory, aged 11, has been chosen to compete for Great Britain in this summer's World Karate Association's world championships.
Gregory lives at Bankhouse Drive, Congleton, and has reached brown belt standard since taking up martial arts at the age of five.
He trains five nights a week, and has fought in national championships since the age of seven, amassing 70 titles and trophies in the process.
The forthcoming world championships take place in August in Hanover, Germany, for which Gregory needs to raise £700 to pay for travel and equipment costs.
''My parents and I will be trying to get together as much money as possible, but I will need some financial support,'' said Gregory.
Anyone who would like to support Gregory with sponsorship can write to him at 65 Bankhouse Drive.
