THE almost Valentine's Ball', which has now become the biggest fund-raising event in the history of the Mayor's Charity Fund, raised nearly £3,000 for local charities.
The evening , which will feature in the next edition of 'Cheshire Life', was host to more than 100 people who enjoyed a drinks reception, dancing and a four course 'love inspired' meal.
The event included a draw with prizes worth almost £1,000. "It was a fantastic night," said organiser, Councillor Maureen Campbell, adding "by coming along people were able to give something back to the local community via the Charity Fund."
