LEAGUE leaders Bank Quay played hosts to third placed Jolly Falstaff in Division One of the Abba Cars Pool.
It was tight until Bank took control in frames five and six with D. Maguire delivering the killer blow.
Second placed St. Oswalds lost the first two frames at Causeway but powered through the next four as captain Dave Williams secured St. Oswalds' 4-3 win in frame six.
Bulls Head B entertained Rylands A and made home advantage count as they secured a 5-2 win.
Lowly Dog and Dart managed to end a run of seven successive defeats and notch only their second win of the season in a 7-0 whitewashing of relegation rivals Riverside. Chris Lloyd opened for Dart, with Gerry Nealy securing the win and Kevin Price sealing the lock out.
Division Two saw some spectacular action at Gas Social B. Gas took a 3-0 lead before Penny Ferry pulled it back to 3-2.
Dave Hinde then came into the fray and left Ferry's Mike Greenwood stunned by a magnificent eight ball clearance in his only visit, securing the points for Gas in frame six.
Leaders Cheshire Cheese ran out 5-2 winners at Albion with J. Lloyd securing the points in frame six. Hoop and Mallet beat Poacher 4-3 with A. Bailey clinching it in frame six.
In Division Three, second placed Warrington Town travelled to Brickmakers hoping to close the gap on leaders Tanner A but ended up on the wrong side of a 4-3 scoreline.
There will be a representatives meeting on Tuesday starting at 8pm at Bank Quay Club.
This is the last date for entries for the individual knockout. Entries for the mixed doubles should also be brought to this meeting. Entry fees for both these competitions is £2 per player.
Third division teams should note that the Ring O' Bells, having failed to attend three of their last four fixtures, are now expelled from the league.
All points up to the January 13 halfway point will stand and all points after January 20 will be void. This will show in the next published set of league tables.
