Crosfields 48
New Earswick 10
SOAP dominated this National Conference League Division Two game throughout with some enterprising Rugby League.
The players supported each other admirably which led to the highest home score of the season.
Against the run of play, however, New Earswick scored the first try to go ahead 4-0.
The lead was short-lived as the visitors dropped the ball from the restart and Crosfields were able to set the foundation for Russ Parkman to send Dave Gibbons over. Andy Holroyd converted.
Soap took the game on to 26-4 by half-time with tries from Danny Lomax, his first try since recovering from cruciate knee ligament damage; Gibbons, the best of the game after good work by Gary Maddocks and Paul Williams; plus two from Matt Mahoney. Holroyd added the conversions.
John Bannon's strong run brought him a second half try. Mahoney registered his hat-trick and Holroyd converted.
Gary Hulse and Chris Campbell, the two under 18 Great Britain squad members were introduced to the fray and they combined well for Hulse to score.
Campbell ensured he did not miss out and supported Parkman to score. Holroyd converted both tries.
Gibbons was awarded Crosfields' man of the match.
