Helsby 3
Moore RUFC 24
MOORE Rugby Union Club claimed their second title in two years when victory over Helsby saw them crowned champions of Cheshire/South Lancs Division Three.
It has been an impressive season for the side as they have lost only once and remain undefeated in the league.
They started Saturday's game with the wind at their backs and soon had Helsby under pressure.
The home side conceded a number of penalties which saw Moore take a 12-0 lead through the reliable boot of Williamson.
Moore crossed the line when good interplay in the backs saw winger Williams score in the corner. Williamson converted from the touchline for a 19-0 half-time lead.
With the wind behind them Helsby started the second half brightly and were rewarded with an early penalty.
Moore extended their lead when a ball won in midfield was fed across the backline for full back Brown to seal the victory.
The club are now looking to ensure an even brighter future with youth and junior rugby starting up in the coming weeks and preparations for next season being made.
Moore seconds defeated Helsby seconds 30-6 to round off a great day for the club.
Tries came from N. Potter, Carroll, Swanton and G. Potter, who also added a penalty and a conversion.
