Wolves prop forward Gary Chambers visits the family home to present, from left, Luke Potter, his mother Yvonne Potter, his cousin Rachel Leyland and his brother Josh Potter with a Wolves season ticket.No.IPB17299.

NINE-year-old Luke Potter has won a Warrington Wolves season ticket for his family to enjoy top class Super League rugby from prime seats at Wilderspool Stadium throughout 1999.

Wolves star prop forward Gary Chambers visited the Potters' home in Norris Street, Orford, to present the prize after Luke's correct entry into a draw was pulled out of the hatful of right answers.

Luke is a fitting winner to the GUARDIAN'S Alan Hunte competition as his mum Yvonne explains.

She says: "Nearly 12 months ago Luke was diagnosed as having a brain tumour. He was on a ventilator for eight weeks and nearly died.

"Now he is doing really well. He has been left with coordination problems but he is getting better all the time.

"It has given him a tremendous boost winning this competition. Rugby is his passion and he goes to all the Wolves games.

"The players are an inspiration to him and we will encourage him all the way.

"To win the ticket is great for us all. I am a single parent and if his dad or his uncle have not been able to take him to the games in the past then I have had to take him which has meant me paying.

"But now we can go along as a family and we are looking forward to the season ahead."

Luke's 10-year-old brother Josh and his uncle Eric Leyland will be taking up the other two seats on the family season ticket prize.
