A STUDENT was punched and robbed in a town centre attack on Saturday night.
The mugger approached the 17-year-old man from behind and struck him on the back of the head outside the Barley Mow pub at about 8.40pm.
The student was pushed to the floor before the thug snatched his wallet containing cash.
The robber is described as white, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall and he spoke with a Liverpool accent.
He was wearing a red puffa-style jacket and black tracksuit bottoms. He ran off towards Horsemarket Street.
Detectives are now appealing for anybody who may have seen the man running from the Golden Square shopping centre around the time of the robbery.
