A LYMM schoolgirl's artwork has won her a top prize in a national road safety competition.
A poster designed by Statham County Primary school pupil Lauren Tideswell won first place in the north west heat of the Glow Power competition, which aims to make sure children are visible at night to reduce road accidents.
More than 10,000 children from across the UK submitted poster designs with the message that 'It's cool to be seen'.
Lauren, aged 10, of Albany Road, was one of only 12 chosen as regional winners but was pipped at the post for the overall winner.
Her design shows how bright clothing makes people stand out at night.
Lauren said: "I like doing art and wanted to paint something that was bright and colourful.
"It's very important to be seen because you don't want to be hit by a car," she said.
She was presented with a Raleigh 'Glow' mountain bike and accessories by organisers Vauxhall while classmates received a special Dennis the Menace glow-in-the-dark armband.
