A 'SCRUFFY' raider who robbed a Lymm post office has been captured thanks to the GUARDIAN.
The man had escaped with £4,000 after handing a note to the postmaster of the Booths Hill post office two weeks ago.
Detectives swooped to arrest a 40-year-old man after tip-offs from the public who had seen his E-Fit in the paper last Friday.
Detective Constable Andy Dodd said: "The lead came from the paper and the response to the E-Fit was remarkable. We were very impressed."
The man, who is from the Lymm area, appeared before Warrington Magistrates' Court last Saturday charged with blackmail.
He was remanded in custody and was due to appear before the court again yesterday, Thursday.
