ANGRY posties claim a "catalogue of disaster" was responsible for mail chaos across Warrington.
Deliveries suffered two days of disruptions because of a stand-off between the Communications Workers Union and Royal Mail - all linked to a weekend water leak.
Postal workers at the Milner Street sorting centre say problems were first noticed on Friday night and management were alerted.
Trouble began when the Sunday night shift arrived at the depot to find blocked toilets and no running water and refused to continue.
Workers were told they would not be paid for the lost time, beginning two days of strikes. Negotiations resulted in staff returning to their posts on Tuesday.
