TV star Sue Johnston and peace campaigner Colin Parry have lent their voices to a multi-million pound project aiming to revitalise the River Mersey.
The former Brookside and Royle Family actress has given her insights into why Warrington's imaginative proposals for the waterway deserve a fair hearing.
Supporters have prepared a short film - to help convince Culture Secretary Chris Smith of the project's viability - and Warrington-based Sue and Mr Parry agreed to take part.
Delegates from the borough council and industry are now putting the finishing touches to their submissions in a bid to win Millennium project backing.
The crucial meeting with Mr Smith takes place next Tuesday in Westminster.
Deputy council leader Mike Hannon said: "We brought together a number of key people who gave their reflections on how they think the town has grown and how this will benefit Warrington's community and business sectors."
Plans designed by acclaimed New York public artist Vito Acconci include winding walkways across the Mersey and a floating arena above the waves.
