A MAN who is alleged to have spent the weekend with stay-away schoolgirl Becky Clare is to be interviewed by police.

After questioning 14-year-old Becky, detectives will travel to Irlam to speak to a 19-year-old man to ask him about last weekend's events.

The teenager went missing after leaving Casi's nightclub with an unknown man in the early hours of Saturday.

Her disappearance launched a police hunt but she phoned home after appeals on national radio on Monday.

Detective Chief Inspector John Hart said: "We can confirm after interviewing Becky that she spent the weekend with a young man in the Irlam area.

"We will be interviewing a man with relation to the weekend and exactly what happened," he said.

However it is unlikely that the man will face charges after the youngster's safe return.

Meanwhile Becky, of Manchester Road, has gone back to her GCSE classes at Newman High school in Latchford.

Teachers hope that the youngster will be able to concentrate on her studies after an eventful weekend.

A senior teacher at the school said: "We were all relieved that she was sensible to contact her mum straight away when she realised what was happening.

"Now she has got to get on with things as normal and she has got the business of her GCSEs to focus on," she said.
