NEWTON charities could be set to benefit from a new European funding scheme championed by Newton's Labour Euro MP Terry Wynn.
Mr Wynn says the scheme will put an end to procedural delays under the current European grants system, which pays out more than £1.5 billion to the UK each year.
Said Mr Wynn: "This will mean good news for many of Newton's charities, as well as small businesses that implement projects vital to the community.
"They have previously had to wait months or even years to receive the final instalment of funding, even though their projects have been completed. Hopefully this will put an end to these worries."
