I AM writing on behalf of some of the residents of Watkin Street, about the front page article in the GUARDIAN on March 5, about Julie Mitchell and her family being victimised because people thought they were Irish.
We all would like to make it clear that we are not racist or prejudiced against the Irish people or any person from another culture and we're sorry Mrs Mitchell feels this way.
There has been a lot of incidents with a lot of people and the Mitchell family are far from innocent. Any abuse they have suffered has been brought on by themselves. We truly deny any racism against them which we have never used, nor heard anyone else use.
Before people start to judge us and start to feel sorry for the Mitchells, the full facts and truth should be known.
