WARRINGTON Soccer League's Jubilee Cup holders Crosfields were knocked out of this season's competition by their neighbours Eagle Sports.

Ian Berry led the way for Eagle in their 3-2 scoreline by notching a brace while Jason Hope Jnr bagged the other. Phil Murray got both of Crosfields' goals.

Whiston Cross won 2-1 at Moorfield. Lee Begley and Andrew Collingwood did the damage with Andy Pritchard getting a late consolation for the home side.

Lockers have made it to the semi-finals of the Depot Cup, this being their first semi-final appearance in any cup competition since joining the league.

They achieved this by winning 5-3 at FC Union Tavern. Their main exterminator was Tony Darbyshire who grabbed a hat-trick, making it 25 goals for the season and also his third goal gave him another milestone as it was his 150th net bulger for the club. Not to be outdone in the family stakes was brother Gary who also slotted home alongside John Abbott.

The other quarter-final went the way of Irlam Catholic Club who overcame Three Crowns 5-4 in a thriller. On the scoresheet for the victors were Joseph Bailey, Paul Chapman, Lee Curtis, James Boardman and Paul Winters and for the unlucky losers, David Gibson, two, Sean Lieburns and Steve Williams.

There was only one league match played in the Premier Division and this saw Riverplate triumph 2-1 over Blackbrook thanks to the educated foot of Ian Whitfield who notched yet another double.

Fearnhead kept their Division One promotion hopes alive by overcoming Grappenhall Sports 3-1. Johnny Brennan gobbled up two with Mike Holden netting the other. Rob Whittaker was the lone marksman for Grappenhall.

Monk Sports and Moore Utd drew 1-1. Paul Bennion gave Moore the lead but a bad mistake by captain Phil Cunningham, who lost possession in the penalty box, gifted the hosts with an equaliser.

Orford's vintage defender Keith Garnett grabbed his first goals for six years. Adding to his brace were Paul Quarmby and Dale Unsworth as they beat Irlam Steel 4-1.

The reserve sections saw an 11 goal bonanza between Eagle and Crosfields.

Eagle lost out 7-4 and their losing efforts came from Tim Myers, Paul Packer, Steve Heywood and Gary Upham.

St. Michaels third, seeking their first win of the season, found themselves 2-0 up with only five minutes left against Grappenhall Sports. Fergus Wiseman then spoiled the script by netting two late goals to earn his side a 2-2 draw.

Moorfield third netted six without reply against Moore Reserves. A couple here for Shaun Ellis, one each for father and son Kevin Dowling senior and junior, Stephen Flaherty and Andrew Woods.

In a Rylands Cup match Halton Borough Reserves progressed to the next round by overcoming Daten fourth 2-0. One apiece here for Gary Harkin and Michael Higginson.

Warrington League will play the Preston League on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm, at Victoria Park.

The under 18s grabbed a 2-1 victory against Bolton Boys' Federation in the Liverpool Inter League with a last minute winner from Vulcan hot shot Anthony Woodyear.

A 10th minute goal chipped over the 'keeper by Woodyear had given Warrington the lead but Bolton had equalised shortly before the break to set the scene for a tense finish.

On Sunday, the side travel to South Merseyside League in the semi-finals of the Liverpool Cup, kick-off 11.15am. The coach will leave St. Albans FC, Bewsey Road, at 9.30am. Contact John Garner on 813590.
