MEMBERS of Lions Clubs from all over the world were the guests of the Warrington district branch when they hosted the annual North of England Convention at the weekend.
It was the first time that the Warrington branch had hosted the prestigious event and they made it a double celebration, as they have been recently praised for their youth exchange programme, which gives children with special needs holidays abroad.
District Youth Exchange Officer Rex Mallett said: "We have exchanged more students than any other Lions Club in the country.
"We have received commendations from Germany, France and Spain and I recently travelled to the Canary Isles to receive a plaque from their director of social service for the work we have done."
He added: "It was a very successful convention. It was a great honour to have the Past International Director of the Lions, Otto Strobino, at the event."
