BREWERY giants Carlsberg-Tetley opened an £8 million distribution depot in Golborne this week, creating new jobs for 33 people.
More than 500 people attended a family fun day to mark the launch of the purpose-built Stonecross Park centre.
Many of the depot's 200-strong workforce have been transferred from the brewery's Warrington depot following its closure last year.
Fifty vehicles will operate from the depot, serving outlets throughout the North West as far as Blackpool and Crewe.
Former Liverpool striker Ian Rush joined clowns and face painters to help raise £500 for the depot's adopted charity, the pioneering Liverpool baby unit, Zoe's Place.
