FUNDRAISERS will be holding a 24 hour party in and around Victoria Park during July.
The "Relay for Life" is a sponsored walk for teams of six to 12 people who take it in turns to keep going throughout the night to raise money for the Cancer Research Campaign.
The event will be held in Warrington for the first time this summer and organisers are hoping to get as many teams as possible taking part.
The idea is to make the event as enjoyable as possible, with music and entertainment to keep the walkers going through the night.
Regional fundraising manager for the charity Stephen Cox said: "We want to develop a sense of community, with people coming together to fight against cancer.
"As the walk carries on, we want there to be a general party atmosphere and we will be working with the local authority to put on entertainment for those camping overnight."
He added: "Everyone walking will be doing it for a reason. Everyone has been touched by cancer, either directly or indirectly."
To make sure the walkers don't forget why they are there, there will be moments of peace during the night when people attending will be able to light candles for those who have been lost to the disease.
The event takes place on July 10 and 11. All the money raised will go towards cancer research in the north west and the organisers are hoping about 300 people will take part.
