Halton Borough Girls u12s 4
Longmoor Barcelona u12s 7
HALTON showed that they can compete with the best in the division, being 4-0 down at half-time gave the borough side a mountain to climb.
In the first-half Halton only played their passing game sporadically but it was only their opponents extra physical strength and aggression that won the game.
Within five minutes of the restart Halton had scored three goals.
The first from Mom Lucy Osborne following excellent work from Kelly Jones.
Kelly who claimed the next goal combined well with Vicky Jones before finishing clinically.
The same pair combined to set up Hannah Pauline for the third.
The borough side came back again, Hannah showing power and accuracy.
Emma Kirby and debutant Cally Whitbread at the back were both outstanding, all of their efforts left Halton tired, they conceded two more unfortunate late goals.
Halton Borough Girls u14s 0
Tranmere Rovers u14s 10
HALTON can be proud of their display against a side that has several players who have played at international level.
Halton were unfortunate to be 3-0 down at the break.
A speculative effort was superbly saved by keeper Natalie Pinnington, but the greasy ball trickled into the goal.
The borough side displayed passion, were well organised and tried to play a passing game.
Samantha Merry gave a superb display as a sweeper.
Kayleigh Harding and Lyndsey Bleasdale also gave the Tranmere forwards little joy.
Danielle McClean also had a great game.
Joanne Rockcliffe fully deserved her Mom award.
Amy Jones also showed great skills.
Becky Halpin in midfield was her usual self with Elly Coleman who led the line well.
It bodes well for Halton.
Real Maghull Girls u10s 3
Halton Borough Girls u10s 2
IN the first-half Halton's slow start let Maghull take a two goal lead.
In the second-half Halton's Girls threw everything at Maghull and this resulted in Halton getting level at 2-2 with a magnificent shot from Jenny Headen then a bobbling deflected shot from Nessie Whitley.
Unfortunately Maghull managed to break away and stole the winning goal.
Mom, Nicki Murray.
