RETIRED joiner Brian Hughes, 67, died from a malignant tumour caused through exposure to asbestos, an inquest heard this week.
Mr Hughes, of Pine Road, Runcorn, died at home in September.
Widow Irene Hughes told the hearing her husband had worked as a joiner at Ward Blenkinsop in Widnes and part of his work involved ripping floorboards up, covered with asbestos.
He was cutting asbestos sheeting and roofing.He had also lined roofs with asbestos.
Coroner John Hibbert said Mr Hughes' condition arose from exposure to asbestos during his working life.
