WE'RE almost two-thirds of the way towards our £25,000 target!

That's the heartening message as our World appeal to Save Halton Haven Hospice reached £14,700 this week.

In the days following the sudden death of cancer care centre founder Dom Valdez, £2,200 was raised.

Donations and hundreds of cards, letters and messages of condolence and support have flooded into Halton Haven from all over the world.

The board of trustees have pledged to keep Dom's dream alive - but they need your help.

Halton Haven is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee.

The day before Dom died, he met with officials from the health authority to put a rescue package together.

North Cheshire Health has confirmed they will be making an additional grant to secure the future of the hospice.

But, the haven will continue to depend on the generosity of the local community.

Cheques made payable to 'Halton Haven' can be sent to the hospice in Barnfield Avenue, Murdishaw, Runcorn.
