Vulcan 1st XV 20
Helsby 1st XV 25
HELSBY returned to winning ways gaining two valuable league points.
Several changes were made to the side following two defeats and the switch of Paul Taylor to centre from full-back proved a very good decision as he scored two second-half tries, one when he caught an interception in the Vulcan 22 and Taylor rounded off an excellent all round performance by scoring the winning try when he picked up a loose ball.
Helsby's other points came in the first-half when Phill Catterall opened up the scores with an early penalty and Andy Rowlinson raced in at the corner with a try.
Phil Catterall also added another penalty to earn him the JPW Body Repairs Mom award.
