CLAIRE Brooks is getting comfortable in the world of DIY furnishings.
Claire, 18, left Woodford Lodge School in Winsford just two years ago. Since then, and with some expert guidance, she has risen to the post of manager at Focus DIY's furniture section.
"I didn't have very clear ideas on what I wanted to do after my GCSEs," said Claire.
"But now, it's a great feeling to know that you can do so much in such a short time."
Claire joined Winsford-based training consultancy Spring Skills in 1996. They soon found her a placement at the DIY store, and helped her gain her NVQ level two in Retail and Customer Service. She then rose swiftly through the store's ranks.
Claire added: "I've got to thank everybody at Spring Skills, especially my consultant, Rachel Laws. Everything that I've managed has been thanks to her."
