FLEDGLING workers from the Northwich area, who have excelled in their fields, are getting set for a really wild night out.
Four young captains of industry will be honoured by Normid TEC tonight, Wednesday, after clinching top awards for their work as trainees.
They will receive their awards from TV's Michaela Strachan, presenter of The Really Wild Show, at the Royal International Hotel near Warrington.
Three of the four feature in the Modern Apprenticeship category. Matthew Gallimore, who works at ICI in Runcorn, won the section, with Emma Vaughan and Elaine Hughes worthy runners-up.
Elaine works for Cleaning Force while Emma now works at Winsford-based training consultancy Spring Skills. But at the time of her training she worked for Holt Lloyd, also in Winsford.
Another winner was Northwich's June Battye, who works for the National Kidney Research Fund. June, who is deaf, topped the Adult Training category, and will receive her award accompanied by Gremlin, her hearing dog.
Vale Royal Training Trust provided the training for the three female customers.
All four will receive trophies, certificates and cash prizes, and Michaela will make a speech in their honour to wrap things up.
Chris Blythe, Chief Executive of Normid TEC, said: "The Trainee of the Year Awards reflect the successes of individuals throughout Vale Royal and the other parts of the area.
"The standard of entries this year was very high, and all winners and runners-up should be very proud of their achievements."
