PUPILS and staff at a Winsford School have been putting pen to paper to make parents more aware of activities at the school.
Handley Hill Primary School have started their own monthly newsletter and pupils are to be given the opportunity to contribute to the publication.
One of the school's parent governors, Colin Walsh, is responsible for producing the monthly letter and was delighted with the response the first issue received from parents.
Colin said: "We thought it would be a good way of giving parents more information about what was going on at the school.
"Towards the end of each week I ask the children and teachers if anyone has done anything which parents might like to know about.
"There may be a new football team captain, or a project that has taken place in a certain class that we can inform parents about in the monthly letter.
"I am not aware of any other school in the area that does this sort of thing as teachers are usually very busy and assigned to a particular class.
"But, because I am a parent governor I have the time to produce the newsletter and perhaps gain a broader over view of what is happening in the school."
He added: "We have already had some parents come into school saying how much they enjoyed reading it which is obviously pleasing."
