THE borough of Congleton is to be given a culture shock when a huge music, dance and drama event is staged.
'Pride of Place' is an exciting and entertaining cultural event which has been organised by Congleton Borough Council.
It will take place on March 27, at 2pm, when Congleton will play host to a series of performances and displays from organisations and individuals in Middlewich and the rest of the borough.
One local group taking part in the event is Middlewich Big Band.
The aim of the event is to help increase awareness of cultural activity and the council's newly-written cultural strategy.
It has explored the value and potential of cultural activity in enhancing both the regeneration of the borough and the quality of life of the borough's citizens.
Arts development officer at Congleton Borough Council, Carol Macgregor, commented on the launch of the cultural strategy.
She said: "I am really looking forward to the cultural strategy launch and I am sure it will be a success.
"We have had a great response from local groups who want to perform, and there will be a wide range of hands-on activities taking place."
'Pride of Place' is a free event and everyone is invited to go along to enjoy the launch at the Bridestones Centre, Congleton.
