I have a thick scrapbook of Guardian cuttings, which in itself is a history of the town.
I remember my parents saying that a Mr Tom Yarwood, who looked after Brunner Library, used to go round the schools giving talks to all the children, about old Northwich.
The children of today do not have that type of lesson - and prefer to read history from books.
Thanks to the Guardian's Market Place spot I have enjoyed local history, which unlike English history is not boring.
