PUPILS from the reception class at Witton Church Walk Primary School were distraught when their toy pig Peter was pignapped.
And things got worse when they received a ransom note from the pignapper - who told them they had a week to give donations to Comic Relief or Peter would end up as bacon butties.
But it all ended happily for Peter and his friends when the culprit was revealed as none other than teacher Paul Kennaugh.
And after a quick phone call to the police, the long arm of the law, in the form of parent PC Mark Clayton, was on the scene to make sure justice was done.
It was all in a good cause - the stunt raised £285 for the charity.
