However, the coach and captain of the BARLA North West Three side remain upbeat about the club's future and its displays this season.
In a statement from the club captain Mark Bebbington revealed: "Myself and coach Mike Redmond are not too disappointed with a probable fourth place finish in what has been a season of transition for the club.
"There is still plenty of reason to be optimistic with the second team at the club going from strength to strength, an under eights team in the pipeline and several prospects of summer signings."
Rangers lost 24-8 at Eccles, ruling out any hope of finishing in the top three.
