Mr Bracken, an ex-army major, is thinking of standing as a Labour candidate . . . as his father-in-law looks set not to stand for re-election.
Mr Bracken, who married Melissa Bell in May last year, has been a member of the Labour Party since before his army days. He and Melissa are expecting their first child, which is due this week.
