"He had a sunny personality. He was very friendly and outgoing, he was absolutely beautiful," said Margaret.
Philip, who left Hartford High School in 1997, had been working at Morrison Distribution Centre for a short time.
Personnel manager Julie Weekes said: "He is very sadly missed. I have got a work force who are very upset, not only have they lost a colleague but he was so young."
Peter Solan, deputy head at Hartford High School said: "He was such a super lad, always willing and always helpful. We are all just devastated."
Mum Margaret added: "You just don't expect this.
"He left here at 7.30am and by 7.50am he was dead.
"He lived for his bike, he lived for his family.
"It's an absolute tragedy."
