UNEMPLOYMENT in the east of Biddulph is running at more than twice the average for Staffordshire Moorlands.
The latest jobless figures for the district reveal there were 87 people out of work in Biddulph East in November.
That represented 5.8 per cent of the working population aged between 16 and 59, and compared with a Moorlands jobless rate of 2.8 per cent.
Biddulph East was also the Moorlands jobless blackspot, faring worse than Leek North East at 4.3 per cent and Cheadle North East at 4.1 per cent.
The jobless rate for the rest of Biddulph stood at 3.1 per cent for the west, 2.7 for the south, 2.3 for the north and two per cent for Biddulph Moor.
