NANTWICH Town have dropped into the bottom three in North West Trains League Division 1 after slumping to their 18th defeat of the season at St Helens.
The Dabbers recovered well with a Matt Patrick strike that levelled the scores after falling behind to an early goal.
But a Lee Murphy own goal put them behind once more and a further breakaway effort in the second half sealed their fate.
Town could get dragged further into trouble at the foot of the table if they lose out to second-bottom Atherton Collieries at home on Saturday.
