ANIMAL lovers could soon have their own special place for burying pets and using as a garden of remembrance.
Susan Lea, of Crabmill Lane, Warmingham is hoping to set up a pet cemetery in one of the family's fields at Tetton Lane.
The field is about seven acres and some three acres would be set aside for the cemetery itself with plans for parking, benches and plants.
"It all started when a dog we loved died. It was like losing a member of the family," said Mrs Lea.
"We were so upset and buried ours in a field at the farm but we thought about all the people who live in flats and can't bury their pets like we could or people who are only there for a few years. It must be very distressing to have to leave the pet behind.
"It would be nice if someone could provide a service and collect the pet if people wanted us to."
The scheme will be discussed at a future Congleton Borough Council planning committee meeting.
