Waterhead 48
West Bank 0
WITH confidence low and several regular first-teamers notably missing the Bank travelled to Oldham to face last season's champions Waterhead.
The result was never in doubt from the 25th minute when the home side added three tries to a third minute try.
After good work from stand-off Rob Corish, Bank centre Charlie Jones looked to have got over in between but was brought back for a forward pass.
Loose-forward Steven King worked hard for the Bank and saved other scores with good cover-tackling.
The second-half had a similar story with a late points burst flattering the home side.
For the Bank prop-forward Danny Hale was chosen by Waterhead as Mom, just reward for his strong running.
Second-row John Buckley and stand-off Rob Corish were closest challengers.
Centre Tony Fillingham, second-row Peter Ratcliffe and hooker Paul Fenney also shone on a day when the Bank's defence had no answer for the bigger home forwards who scored nine of their tries.
