Halton AgrEvo Cricket League
PROPOSED rule amendments which will be discussed at the AGM on Tuesday, March 23 are as follows:
Ditton CC propose an amendment to Rule 8 (a) - points for a draw.
If at the due start time of 6.30pm (6.15pm in August) the game has not commenced, and both teams have eight or more players present, then only by mutual agreement of both captains or deputies can a game be called "rain affected".
Both teams will be awarded two points each.
Such details must be entered on results sheets which must be signed by one member of each team.
If one team has less than eight players present at the start time then they must be given the opportunity of allowing more players to arrive.
The cut off time for this will be 6.45pm (6.30pm in August).
Should no more players arrive by this time, the team which has less than eight players will be deemed to have lost the game and four points will be awarded to their opponents.
If games are cancelled by groundsmen on or before 6.30pm (6.15pm in August) 0 points will be awarded to each team.
Present Rule States: Draw - one point ie, a match abandoned after the start of play or match not started due to bad weather but both teams having eight players present.
Loss - 0 point, match not started - 0 point ie, cancelled by groundsmen on or before 6.30pm (6.15pm in August).
ICI Extras propose an addendum to Rule 9 (a).
The deduction of match points for failure to fulfil a fixture.
Thus encouraging clubs to complete all fixtures which is the main aim of the league.
Clubs will be deducted points in addition to 0 points for the fixture not fulfilled.
Present Rule States: Matches may only be re-arranged if they are postponed through the inability of a club to field a reasonable full team owing to overtime having to be worked.
Any club unable to fulfil a fixture, must notify the opposing club and the league secretary before 1pm on the day of the month.
Failure to do so will result in a £5 fine.
