IT will be a repeat of last season's GUARDIAN Cup final on Easter Monday as holders Crosfields and Whiston Cross won their semi-final matches.

Holders Crosfields beat East Leigh 4-1 thanks to goals from Mark Caven, two, Ian Pickett and Andy Astley.

In the other semi Whiston edged out Sidac Social 4-3. Andrew Hayes and Tony Holden put Cross 2-0 up but Sidac were leading 3-2 late on. Manager Brian Glover made inspired substitutions as Stephen Edwards equalised to cancel out his mistake in scoring an own goal and then super sub Lee Begley rammed home the winner three minutes from time.

First division Haydock outwitted Premier outfit St. Michaels 4-0 in the Jubilee Cup. Gary Darbyshire grabbed two with the others coming from Neil Lunn and Neil James.

In the Drinkwater Trophy, Riverplate's hatchet man Ian Whitfield netted another brace with others coming from Dave Houghton, Robert Broome and John McColl in the 5-0 win over Sasib.

Fearnhead also made progress by overcoming Burtonwood 4-1. Old timer Mike McEvoy netted one, debut boy Neil Webster also got on the scoresheet alongside usual marksman Andy Sharkey, who netted two.

Danny Campbell, Peter Withers, Michael Higginson and Brendan Coffey found the mark in Halton Borough Reserve's success at Winwick in a Reg Oliver Cup tie.

In the league, veteran Steve Mullarkey showed his skills with a 45 yarder as his team Moorfield shared the spoils in a 1-1 Premier Division match with leaders Eagle Sports.

Grappenhall Sports' Scott Johnson was the master blaster of the day as he scored all of his side's five goals in a 5-3 win at Widnes Sports and Social.

In Division Two, second placed Irlam Catholic Club were held 1-1 at home to Penketh Utd. James Boardman scored for the hosts but Stephen Illingworth smashed home the late equaliser.

Spartak drew 3-3 at Lymm Rangers, brothers Geoff and Paul Howard and Mark Bostock being the targetmen.

Division Three leaders Crontonians had a 4-1 win at Tommy's Clock Face. Lee Holmes made it 24 for the season as he rattled in two with Dave Gannon and Phil Jackson also netting.

Moorfield's second and third teams won. The B team had a 3-2 success at Eagle Sports. Derek Mullarkey slotted home twice with Paul Chance also netting while the C team outgunned Eagle third 6-3. On the goal trail were Sean Ellis, two, Kevin Dowling, Steve Flaherty and David Thomas.

Neil Williams notched all four goals for Irlam Catholic Club Reserves in their 4-3 win at Halton Borough fourth. Terry Schoular, George Hughes and Rob Dunbavin responded.

Safeways Reserves won 4-2 at Moore Reserves, Gareth Dommett and Chris Wilson netting for the home team but the winning efforts came courtesy of Matt Taylor, Steve Orford, Mickey Bradshaw and Dave Gallop.

Carl Burton's strike gave Fearnhead Reserves a 1-1 draw at Daten fourth.
