A WARRINGTON peace group is stepping out on a symbolic walk to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the Bridge Street bombing.
The Community Peace Walkers group was formed in the wake of the atrocity and every year organise the walk to remember those who died and were injured.
Around 100 walkers and dignitaries from Warrington, Liverpool, Dublin and Omagh will meet at Liverpool's Roman Catholic Cathedral tomorrow, Saturday, at 10am. After a church service entitled 'Hope Strides' they will walk along Hope Street to the Anglican Cathedral for a brief ceremony.
Then the walkers will take it in turns to walk separate stages back to Warrington, past the peace centre site as the first sod is cut and on to the Town Hall. They will also lay a wreath at the site of the bomb in Bridge Street.
The last walk from Manchester to Warrington raised £1,000 which split between St Rocco's Hospice and Northern Ireland's Lifeline which is dedicated to families of those who have lost their lives through the troubles.
