A CULCHETH teacher will be taking to the streets of London to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

Brian Malone, a science teacher at Culcheth High School, has overcome a knee injury to take part in this year's marathon. He has been accepted to run on two previous occasions, but damage to his joint meant that he had to pull out.

"I have always wanted to do it," said Brian, "and I am determined to finish. I chose the Roy Castle charity because friends and family have suffered with the illness."

Brian is the third teacher from the school to take up the marathon challenge. As reported in Friday's GUARDIAN, history tutor Andrew Locke and PE teacher Colin Peaks are also in training for the big race.

If you would like to sponsor Brian, call the school on 762136.
