A WOMAN is appealing for help to send a little bit of Warrington to her dying friend on the other side of the world.
Brenda Crooks, of Howson Road, Orford, hasn't seen her former work colleague Isabel Spencer for 21 years.
The pair were nurses at Winwick Hospital and became close friends but Isabel emigrated to Australia with her family. The women have kept in touch with letters and cards.
Brenda has just found out that Isabel is dying of acute myeloid leukaemia.
"I was in a terrible state when I heard," she said.
"We were really good mates. She told me doctors are not going to give her any treatment, but that she had had a good innings. That broke my heart."
Brenda knows she cannot afford the flight to Australia, but says she wants to do something special for Isabel.
"I want to send her a video of Warrington and my family," said Brenda, "but we don't know anyone with the equipment to do it.
"She would love to see how things have changed."
If you can help Brenda make the video, call Brenda on 488756.
