Redgate - 1 Alsager - 4
ALSAGER strengthened their championship challenge with a comfortable victory at Redgate on Saturday.
Lee Nixon gave the visitors the lead on 14 minutes and Gareth Rowe bagged a brace to put them three-up by half-time.
Redgate hit back with a goal in the second half before Darren O'Toole sealed the win three minutes from full time.
The win leaves them just two points off the lead with eight games in hand and surely the upper hand in the title race.
Manager Steve Booth said: "We are still title favourites and it's in our own hands. Even if we just win our games in hand we will go 20 points clear.
"Our last game is on May 12, so we are going to have to play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays for every week after Easter until the end of the season, which will be tough."
