Stratford Town - 0 Knypersley Vics - 3

KNYPERSLEY Vics scored a vital win over rock-bottom Stratford Town to snatch the points both teams needed to climb the table.

Stratford gave them a flying start after just five minutes when Hamil, under pressure from Thompson, headed a Palin cross into the roof of his own net.

Vics nearly doubled the lead after a superb flowing move from the back which resulted in James firing a cross to the far post for Palin, who cracked the ball home only to have the goal disallowed for offside.

After the break Town came out all guns blazing and nearly found the equaliser when Smith met a cross from Dickson, but his scissor kick volley dipped just over the bar.

Then on 70 minutes a long clearance found Thompson, who crossed from the right for Palin to force his way past a defender and smash the ball into the roof of the net.

Palin grabbed his second on 75 minutes, poking the ball into the net to seal the win after Wilkes headed goalwards from a James corner.
